At BADINAGE, we believe in creating timeless leather goods that tell a story. This story is yours, but it is also that of the men and women who worked to make our bags.
We are proud to work with a workshop where the ancestral art of leatherwork is passed down from generation to generation. This collaboration, by allowing the meeting of French luxury and know-how from elsewhere, is a commitment to greater authenticity and respect.
Each bag we design is the result of meticulous work, where the smallest detail is carefully made, often by hand, by talented craftsmen. We believe in highlighting this know-how through contemporary design. In tune with the times, BADINAGE bags are creations that synthesize modernity and tradition. Our production workshops skillfully use natural resources, such as leather of course, but also the solar energy which powers their production, and have done so for more than ten years!

Small series for great attention
We have chosen to produce our leather bags in small batches to preserve their artisanal character. This decision allows us to guarantee the greatest attention to each piece, from its design to its manufacturing.
Independently offering women's bags in small series also means offering you the satisfaction of acquiring a bag of character that is uniquely yours. We encourage a more confidential and imaginative luxury. We are proud of each bag we create on which we affix the embossed signature of our French brand.
More sustainable materials
We select all our materials carefully, from the leathers used for our bags to those used for their suede or colored leather inserts. Leather is a natural material that leather goods can fully utilize, its durability is irrefutable. We work exclusively with leather from the food industry, for which these scraps are a surplus.
Our partner tanneries are all certified responsible by the Leather Working Group (LWG). Our women's handbags are made in 3 types of leather.
- Smooth bovine leather, tanned using traditional processes (mineral tanning strictly controlled and requiring low water consumption).
- A grained goatskin leather for which we have chosen vegetable tanning for its black or chestnut leather version and mineral tanning to obtain our irresistible sage color.
- A goat suede leather, much softer to the touch than suede of bovine origin.
Although many eco-responsible initiatives are being carried out for the development of biomaterials, to date none offer a finish and resistance worthy of natural leather. “Vegan leather” is often made from plastics from the petrochemical industry. Their usually unaesthetic appearance, and the absence of innate properties of leather, are coupled with the effect of their production on the environment. Our cotton canvas, a natural fiber more noble and virtuous than polyester, and the metal parts of our leather goods collections are also of high quality. Because every detail counts, our handbags fit comfortably in a certified organic cotton pouch, a way for us to take care of your leather bag but also of the environment.

We firmly believe that committing to more sustainability in fashion and leather goods also means extending the lifespan of our products. Our leather bags are designed to accompany you year after year. Sustainability is a concept integrated into the manufacturing of our models from the creation phase, as well as when choosing our leathers and raw materials. This requirement, inversely proportional to the size of our independent house, allows us to offer you bags of impeccable quality. We also encourage our customers to cherish their bags and maintain them with care. The patina of the leather, imprinted by the time spent at your side but also by shared moments and memories, gives each BADINAGE bag a unique value that will strengthen over the years.
